Leandro from Brazil studies English at GEOS Queensland College of English at the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Why did you choose Australia?

Because it is cheaper than the USA and I can work here on my student visa.

And why did you choose the Gold Coast?

Because of the nice waves here.

How do you feel being and studying in a foreign country?

It is very easy. Everyone talks to you and is very nice. It is really easy to make friends here.

How can you handle the language?

My English is not very good at all, but that is the reason I am here and I am positive that it will improve very fast.

What is it like being a language student?

I have a lot of friends from many different backgrounds, which makes it very exciting to be here.

What are you doing in your leisure time?

I love to go out to the pubs and the nightclubs and after school I go surfing.

Do you have some tips for people who think about coming to Australia?

I just arrived to the Gold Coast, but I would really recommend it.

What do you think of the Australian people?

They are very friendly but they drink a lot. There are much more rules in Australia than in Brazil.

Just come over to Australia and have a look for yourself, it is awesome.
