Byron Bay Markets

Sunday Markets in Byron Bay
Every Sunday in Byron Bay or the surrounding towns craft and produce markets are held. These markets have a character al of their own and there is a definite “new age” and hippie style associated with the markets. You can check out beautiful local
photography and artwork, get your fortune told, have a massage or grab something to eat while you wander around or to take home and have later. The markets schedule is:

First Week of the Month
Brunswick Heads Markets - 1st Saturday of the month
Byron Bay Markets - 1st Sunday of the month
Murwillumbah Markets - 1st Saturday of the month
Pottsville Markets - 1st Sunday of the month
Lismore Markets - 1st Sunday of the month
Lismore Car Boot Market - 1st Sunday of the month

Second Week of the Month
Kingscliff Markets - 2nd Saturday of the month
The Channon Markets - 2nd Sunday of the month
Alstonville Markets - 2nd Sunday of the month
Lennox Head Markets - 2nd Sunday of the month

Third Week of the Month
Lismore Car Boot Market - 3rd Sunday of the month
Mullumbimby Markets - 3rd Saturday of the month
Nimbin Markets - 3rd Sunday of the month
Pottsville Markets - 3rd Sunday of the month
Uki Buttery Bazaar - 3rd Sunday of the month

Fourth Week of the Month
Kingscliff Markets - 4th Saturday of the month
Bangalow Markets - 4th Sunday of the month

It is entertaining and enjoyable to wander around the markets. There are ofteninteresting hand made things to buy at good prices. The food is good and you can pick up a cheap lunch and sit in the shade  and watch the crowd go by. At every market there will be buskers and live music with one of the local bands playing. Beyond providing entertainment for students or a way of spending a few hours on a
Sunday they also provide students with a potential source of income. If a studentcan turn their hand to cooking a local dish from their home country they can take a stall at the market and sell it to the hungry masses. If they have any musical or other talent they can try their hand at busking. There are many ways to make money at the markets. The advantages are that the student can work to their own schedule in producing what they sell and also the big day is Sunday when there are no classes to
attend. Getting a market stall involves joining the casual stall holders queue prior to the market opening. As well as providing a source of income the markets also provide a great way for students to practise their English!
